WRRA Awards Congratulations

Last weekend, the Wellington Rugby Referees annual awards dinner was held at the Petone Rugby Football Club. A great cross section of members attended in what was a fantastic night. Social Convenor Steve Newson put together a good program which was driven along by MC for the night Gordon Noble-Campbell.

The level managers gave an overview of the season and presented the promotion and finals certificates for those that earnt them during the season.  There were also some new promotions announced on the night for those that finished the season strongly.

The night was finished off by the major trophy presentations which were as follows;

Cummins Cup – Most Promising 2nd Year Referee – Zander Glasgow

Lougher Cup – Most Improved Level 3 Referee – Jury Tenitenismeaton

Joe Beagle Memorial Cup – Most Promising L2 Referee – Marius Du Toit

Hugh Jacobs Trophy – Most Promising L1 Referee – Colin Te Pohe

The Joe O’Brien Memorial Service Award – Marius Du Toit.
